Catania “sees” summer: the beaches and solarium in Piazza Sciascia are open

In Catania, the municipal seaside department has prepared equipped spaces on the rocky seafront and on the free municipal beaches of Plaia to encourage free access to the sea, guaranteeing functionality and safety for sunbathers.

The Etna Municipality made this known. The first to open, last May 30th, was the free beach n.3 Stromboli already frequented by many citizens who are appreciating the many services offered: from showers to lifeguards, from the bar to play areas for adults and children. To the free beach n.3 of the Plaia in operation from Saturday 8 June there is also the n. 2 Vulcano and n. 3 Etna, which also open to the public earlier than in previous years.

On the cliff front on the seafront, the solarium in Piazza Sciascia also opens tomorrow morning, opposite Piazza Europa, a space that has been enlarged by almost 300 square meters compared to the past and therefore capable of accommodating a greater number of people. Finally, the opening of the long-awaited solarium located in front of the Nautical Institute in viale Artale Alagona, set for Saturday 15 June, was built this year, after five years of absence, at the behest of the mayor and the sea councilor with a additional spending commitment of tourist tax resources. At the same time, the solarium and the walkway for disabled people in San Giovanni Li Cuti will also be opened on the same Saturday.
