PAVIA – They have unloaded waste material coming from the move of a house in an agricultural area, rather than in the authorized disposal center. For this reason dTwo people were reported to Pavia on charges of the crime of illicit disposal of urban, special and dangerous waste. The activity, carried out by Financial Police of Pavia and the local police of the Municipality of Vellezzo Belliniis part of a broader plan to combat the numerous and illicit waste spills that take place in areas with a high agricultural vocation, such as that of the Pellegrina hamlet of the municipality of Vellezzo Bellini, where the intervention was carried out.
Part of this waste was also found inside a canal that irrigates the adjacent rice fields; among the waste found, there were also containers of chemical products for painting parquet. Among the spilled material, however, some personal effects were also found which made it possible to identify those responsible: the waste, coming from the move of a house, had been entrusted to a company which, instead of taking it to an authorized disposal centre, he had unloaded them in the agricultural area of Vellezzo.
The two responsible parties, once reached by the police, immediately admitted their responsibilities and proceeded to restore the places. Furthermore, a report was sent to the Pavia prosecutor’s office against the two for violation of the Consolidated Law on the Environment, for illicit disposal of waste with the aggravating circumstance of having abandoned it in surface waters.
