We are in the final stages of this heated electoral campaign for the administrative ones of Corigliano-Rossano and spirits heat up on and off stage. On a warm evening at the beginning of June, the outgoing mayor Flavio Stasi he certainly doesn’t tell them. ‘U guagnun (the boy), renamed so due to his young age, is removed a few pebbles from the shoe. The rally in Piazza Steri excites voters and fans.

The principle that Stasi carries forward is that of freedom. The candidate for mayor reiterates his freedom in running for office, unlike his competitor Pasqualina Straface, whose candidacy appears to have been lowered from above by the Region. Stasi’s freedom is to be able to say no to the institutional pseudo-supply chain which, as he himself reiterates in Piazza Steri, “he did nothing for this territory. An unfortunate parenthesis which closed hospitals, which he signed for differentiated autonomy, which led to the closure of the Court”. Stasi’s intent is to continue on the growth path “with a dignified, young and courageous political class. On 8 and 9 June Corigliano-Rossano must demonstrate that he wants to move forward and not go back to 10-15 years ago at the old politics of the gentlemen attached to their seats“.

“A city that is now recognized for its awards for legality, for transparency and for actions carried out in broad daylight. Unlike what happened in 2011-2012, however, where the then Administration was stained by a disgrace that cannot be forgotten. Let us demonstrate that we are a dignified, free and autonomous community that continues to love its city without submitting to the yoke of power.” To conclude the rally, the background music that accompanied this electoral round: “all together Flavio come on, Flavio come on, Flavio come on”.
