Marsala – Fighting educational poverty by leveraging the abilities and skills of individual students, enhancing the “I know how” – “M’a firu” in Sicilian – to be able to accompany the young citizens of Marsala in their future of study and work. This, in short, is the heart of the project created by NeXt Economia in partnership with the Municipality of Marsala, ITET Garibaldi, FabLab Western Sicily and the CIF of Livorno. In the San Pietro Complex, at the illustrative event of the laboratories carried out in the “Itet Garibaldi” and “Cosentino-Giovanni XXIII” institutes, the councilor for social services Giuseppa Piccione was present: “I listened with interest to the reports on the laboratory activities, all with notable food for thought. They are experiential moments of sharing and cooperation, real opportunities that encourage a healthy process of active citizenship in young people”. The “M’a firu” project, which will continue during the summer, involved around ten classes, with students engaged in various interactive and participatory methods (circle time, world café, brainstorming) along the laboratory phase carried out in class.

The project pthe path of participatory democracy already started in Marsala with “Luci dal Mediterraneo”, promoted by the Grillo Administration, continues, networking the initiatives of subjects active in the area, aimed at the well-being of students. Financed with Pnrr Inclusion and Cohesion funds, “M’a firu” wants to accompany young people in finding/rediscovering their own path – in study, in work, in being active citizens – with training actions carried out during school/extracurricular hours which see together educational institutions, associations, third sector bodies and families.
