Carabinieri, celebration for the foundation of the Carabinieri in Piazza Rinaldi in Treviso. In one year 331 “code red” crimes and 1085 road accidents, 29 fatal

TREVISO – Almost 35 thousand prevention services, 123 thousand roadside checks with over 151 thousand people identified, over 198 thousand emergency calls received, 331 red codes and 361 people arrested. These are some of the data presented today, June 5th, on the occasion of the celebrations of 210th Annual Foundation of the Carabinieri. The party this morning in Piazza Rinaldi in the presence of parliamentary, regional and local, civil, military and ecclesiastical authorities and numerous mayors of the Marche.

The provincial commander, Colonel Massimo Ribaudo, after having reviewed a unit made up of a representation of the 39 station commanders of the province, of officers and carabinieri of the special departments of the Army and of soldiers in Historical Uniform, welcomed the guests present, including “special” guests: a hundred students of the “Valeri”, “Coletti” and “Riccati” institutes of Treviso. At the end of the ceremony, rewards and honors were awarded to the soldiers of the Corps who distinguished themselves. An institution, that of the Carabinieri «which has reached our times more firmly than ever, – observed Ribaudo – with over two centuries of history, still ready to serve the State and its citizens. This has been and must always be our ethical compass, founded on the culture of being and not of appearingwithout being overwhelmed by the rapid carrying out of daily commitments, without running the risk of losing the right direction». The commander, among other things, recalled the 45 soldiers of his Command who have suffered injuries during operational activity in the last 12 months, then underlining that he wants to maintain unchanged the primacy of the Brand which, in the national rankings, «is at the top for quality of real life and safety, thanks also to the widespread defense network of the force”.

The data

The ceremony was also an opportunity to take stock of the prevention and fight against crime and all forms of illegality carried out in the province of Treviso by the Carabinieri in the last 12 months:

• 34,873 prevention services carried out, of which 734 on foot, in addition to 726 public order and safety services, with over 70,000 soldiers overall busy
• 123,286 checks carried out on the road with over 151,500 people identified. In the first 5 months of the current year, demonstrating a constant effort aimed at increasing the external projection of the departments, over 55,000 checks were carried out with almost 69,000 subjects identified;
• over 198,000 emergency calls arrived on the 112 user at the operations centers of the five Company Headquarters;
• 5206 people reported to the competent judicial authorities, while 2337 subjects were reported in the first 5 months of the current year;
• 361 people arrested, of which 154 in the first five months of 2023;
• 1085 road accidents detected, of which 29 were fatal. There are 409 road accidents detected by the crews in the current year;
• almost 5,550 students and teachers from around sixty schools of every order and degree encountered, in the school year that is coming to an end, as evidence of the traditional contribution of the Force to the formation of a culture of legality among the youngest, also useful in dealing with some phenomena of juvenile deviance, fueled by a long wave of inconveniences
• 40 meetings with more than 1900 elderly people attended, to which must be added the many reached through the numerous information campaigns on safety carried out with the usual, precious and sensitive collaboration of the information bodies, whose representatives I thank, also for their presence today
• 331 crimes falling under the so-called “red code”
