POZZUOLI – After six months, the two houses occupied during the Christmas holidays in the Marocchini district of Via Napoli were evicted. The operations were conducted this morning under the coordination of the Pozzuoli police station – directed by the deputy commissioner Ludovica Carpino – and involved the mobile departments of the state police, carabinieri, firefighters and municipal police. 118 health workers and social workers were also present on site.

THE CLEARANCE – The eviction order for two families (local residents) was issued the day after the occupation. The occupants – men, women and a minor – taking advantage of the departure of the legitimate assignees during the Christmas holidays, had torn down the doors and windows and managed to occupy the buildings. The intervention of the police and police was immediate and in the following hours they identified and reported the squatters. Who, over the course of six months, never complied with the invitation to leave, triggering the forced eviction carried out today. The two homes, located on the ground floor and first floor of a public building, were returned to the IACP (Istituto Autonomo Case Popolari), the body that manages the real estate assets. Checks were also initiated against the assignees to ascertain the state of compatibility with the assignments dating back to several years ago.
