Differentiated autonomy, the protest is to vote no

Deputies participate with conviction in the vote and take sides for the South

Press release

CATANZARO. The only real civil and institutional protest that can be implemented against Differentiated Autonomy is the vote against its approval in the Chamber.

Everything else, from abstention – or worse – to non-presence in the chamber, would be just a ploy to “not spoil the will” of a Government which with this measure will put the tombstone on the development and future of the South.

This is what the regional councilors Giuseppe Graziano and Francesco De Nisi, respectively President and Secretary of Azione Calabria, declare, asking all the Deputies from the South and Calabria, of all political parties, to participate tomorrow (Wednesday 19 June) in the last and definitive vote to the Chamber of Deputies for the Reform on Differentiated Regionalism and to vote against.

The Southern Question – say Graziano and De Nisi – is a chapter in the history of Italy that is still very open and far from being resolved.

The official history of Italy narrated in recent decades has punctually, perseveringly and progressively managed to portray a national unity and equality which, in fact, does not exist.

Of course, this is not the time to engage in revisionism, but if we do not start from the assumption that Constitutionally guaranteed Rights do not have the same application in Milan as in Reggio Calabria, it is clear that we cannot even address the issue of Differentiated Autonomy.

A rule – the President and the Secretary of Action Calabria forcefully reiterate – which will bring the Southern Regions to their knees which will find themselves, from the day after tomorrow, having to face abnormal problems which will block the provision of services and prospects and will definitively split Italy.
