The 2024 tourist season in Calabria was inaugurated on the occasion of the meeting between Otmar Michaeler, CEO of FMTG – Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group, the President of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiuto, and the President of Federalberghi Calabria, Fabrizio D’Agostino. During the visit of the CEO of FMTG, an Austrian hospitality group present in the region with one of the largest villages in the South, possible future investments in the area were discussed, in addition to the progress made in recent years to guarantee accessible and quality services, putting in highlights the importance of the synergy between sector operators and public policies for the tourism development of the region. Furthermore, the excellent forecasts in terms of attendance for this summer were analysed, deriving from a renewed concept of tourism understood as an integrated system of infrastructure, accommodation, mobility and sustainability.

Michaeler expressed satisfaction with the results obtained, underlining the relevance of Calabria as a strategic destination for the group of South Tyrolean origin. “The decision to invest in Calabria proved to be a winning one, with significant customer loyalty and an increase in bookings.
