Wimbledon debut as number 1 on Court 1 for Jannik Sinner. The organizers of the Championships have made official the program of the first day, Monday 1 July: the match of the top seed of the ATP circuit, engaged with the German Yannick Hanfmann, has been placed as the third match from 2 pm, after Medvedev and Sabalenka. “I am honored to be in this club, I feel the history of Wimbledon”, declared the South Tyrolean tennis player to the microphones of Sky Sport.

Physical problems are behind us

The ATP victory in Halle seems to have definitively put the physical problems of the last period behind him. “Physically I feel very good, for me it is the most important thing: the problems I had at Roland Garros are over”, underlined Sinner who then framed the match with Hanfmann: “On Monday there will be the first obstacle that promises to be very difficult, I hope to start well”.

The carreer

This Wimbledon tournament will be the first one that Sinner will face from the top of the ATP rankings, but this milestone represents a starting point. “I know in my head how many sacrifices I have made, how many hours of training I have done, how many noes I have said in my career: I am still young, I have to turn 23 this year, I can still improve physically, mentally and also tennis-wise”, the tennis player from Alto Adige highlighted. For this reason, according to Sinner, growth “is a whole process and mine has just begun. I will always continue to work and try to improve myself, both as a person and as a player”.
