In Cremona electronic sound meets violin making

New this year at Cremona Musica International Exhibitions and Festivalthe most important trade fair in the world for high quality musical instruments, scheduled from 27 to 29 September at the Cremona Fair.

A new space is born, not only physical, which dialogues with tradition and the important balances of a territory born and trained on the nature that most characterizes him in the world: music and violin making. Instruments designed and created with the most expert techniques and knowledge continue their centuries-old journey and begin a dialogue with a reality present and now consolidated in our society and contemporaneity: electric sound.

The latter originates from stools that have revolutionized music, customs, construction techniques and scientific research over the last 70 years in the field of sound evolution, in the field of live music and audio recording.

“CremonaFiere is pleased to present the beginning of an important journey – explains the President of CremonaFiere Roberto Biloni – alongside the tradition that has always characterized us, both as a territory and as a trade fair, we want to support a more contemporary and modern world as a sign of evolution and vision towards the future. Electric Sound Village is therefore born, an exhibition space that marks the desire to approach a new audience of music enthusiasts. This path will be built together with the territory, respecting its vocation and opening up to constructive dialogue in which every aspect of the musical world will grow, further establishing Cremona as the capital of music”.

The Electric Sound Village will join the Acoustic Guitar Village which cleverly acts as a link between acoustic lutherie, classic and modern, and electric lutherie.

“The success and long history of the Acoustic Guitar Village of these past years have gained new insights into the wonderful universe of the guitar, paving the way for other offers within the exhibition halls of Cremona Musica: the whole world that goes from the first experiments and productions of 6 or 12 electric strings, today called “vintage”, up to the current models of high quality violin making, with the related accessories such as amplifiers, analogue and digital effects, will find space and will be valorised within the Electric Sound Village.

There will be no shortage of historical pieces and rock memorabilia on display, expertly collected by passionate amateurs. All this taken care of by a true connoisseur on the subject, the expert Stefano Prinzivalli, one of the animators of the “Vintage Authority APS” and “Made in rock APS” associations which have distinguished themselves over the years in organizing various successful events of this sector. As Artistic Advisor of Cremona Musica – explains Alessio Ambrosi – I am very satisfied with this innovation proposed by Cremona Musica; finally the guitar will be presented in all its expressions: acoustic, in the classic and modern version, and electric, in its “vintage” excellence and current high-end production”.

CremonaMusica it is an event in which all the local actors contribute to making it unique. Among these are the Municipality, the Chamber of Commerce, the Violin Museum, the artisan associations, the schools with which Cremonafiere builds a schedule of events and a trade fair experience that increasingly becomes a unique territorial experience.

To confirm what has been said so far, whoever will manage this new space, in coordination with CremonaFiere and Acoustic Guitar Village, will be Stefano Prinzivalli, former Marketing Office Manager at the Violin Museum Foundation Antonio Stradivari Cremona since 2013 and who will be able, thanks to his professional training, to have an even more attentive look: “Coordinating and communicating with the history that I have known and appreciated for years, I believe will be able to give important results for everyone. I know how well known Cremona and classical violin making are in the world and it will also be my task to continue in this direction, but at the same time create the optimal conditions for the world of the electric guitar to emerge in our dynamics. World in which I have been for a long time out of passion and thanks to the work carried out within the most important associations present today in Italy: Vintage Authority APS and Made in Rock APS. We start from the vintage guitar in all its components and relationships, continuing in high-end and boutique production, custom shops, luthier productions that reflect characteristics of extreme quality and craftsmanship.

“Without forgetting that an electric guitar reproduces and transmits its own vibrations through other components: amplifiers, cables, expression pedals, analogue and digital technologies that today define a world that opens the doors to many possibilities. Finally, to tell an important cultural aspect which concerns the history of rock music in all its facets and influences in more than 70 years of history. Sounds and songs that have been intertwined with our daily lives for decades, in musical genres superimposed on social and customary events; bearing witness to it through objects belonging to great musicians and any other possible in-depth analysis in this direction completes the ESV project.

“This is my task – he continues Prinzivalli – lead to a dialogue in the form and substance commensurate with our territory and propose exhibitions and contents of the highest level (in-depth studies, exhibitions, musical performances, clinics, master classes) that can add a “new” wind, enhancing and transporting the history from which we come.”

CremonaMusica will therefore be an opportunity to visit a unique music fair at an international level, this year also enriched by the component represented byElectric Sound Village. The quality of the exhibition and events, combined with culture and good music will be the common denominators of the music fair event in Italy, which further consolidates Cremona’s role as the capital of music.
