Investigations into the abuse of a minor by her father have allowed the Carabinieri of the Lodi Provincial Command to dismantle an online pedophile network which led to the flagrant arrest of four people residing in the provinces of Milan, Brescia, Taranto and Bari , found in possession of a significant quantity of child pornography material and to the reporting of three other people, one of whom resides in Germany.
The investigative activity was coordinated with the territorially competent prosecutors of Milan, Brescia, Bari and Lecce and led to the seizure of approximately 215,000 files including images and videos of a child pornography nature depicting minors of different nationalities.
The investigations began in April 2023 when sexual abuse of a minor by her father was reported. The military ascertained the violence and that the events continued over time in the provinces of Milan, Pavia and Lodi, where the family lived.
The 46-year-old father was arrested and, during the relevant searches, thousands of child pornographic video and photo files of different origins were found, present in the seized computer devices that were in use by the man. The man was sentenced at first instance to 12 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 euros, while all the seized material was viewed by staff specialized in electronic investigations in Lodi who identified an online network of communication and exchange of child pornography material, rooted in Italy and abroad.
During the investigations, the information obtained led to the arrest in flagrante delicto of 4 people residing in the provinces of Milan, Brescia, Taranto and Bari, found in possession of a significant quantity of video and photographic material of a child pornography nature and to the reporting of three others.
