SPORT – On the morning of June 4, 2024, the plaque will be delivered to the municipal residence
This morning, Tuesday 4 June 2024, the municipal administration delivered a recognition plaque to the Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic in the municipal residence of Ferrara. Gabriele Achilli. The plaque was awarded for his “commitment to promoting traditional karate worldwide”.
THE BOARD
Gabriele Achilli and his karate career:
– 6th Dan Black Belt in Karate: Gabriele Achilli obtained the 6th Dan black belt, a recognition of international value, from the FIKTA (Italian Federation of Traditional Karate and related disciplines).
– National President of FIKTA: For over 30 years, Achilli has been the National President of FIKTA, which has 390 companies, 1,000 technicians and 18,000 members. During his presidency, the national athletes won 203 gold medals, 123 silver medals and 78 bronze medals on all the Tatamis in the world.
– President of the Shotokan Italia Institute asd (ISI): Since 1986, Gabriele Achilli has led the Shotokan Italia Institute, recognized as a non-profit organization since 1995.
– Organizer of Karate Events: He has curated numerous editions of the International ‘Shotokan Cup’ in Ferrara, as well as other traditional karate events.
– Contributions to Medicine in Karate: Achilli collaborated with university researchers for the application of medicine in the practice of traditional karate.
– Organizer of the Mickey Mouse Traditional Karate Trophy: Together with his daughter Federica, he created a unique event in the world reserved for children aged 7 to 14.
He was also the guest of honor at 16th International Karate Championship for Clubsheld between Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May 2024.
