Traffic in via dell’Annona reopened yesterday, Monday 3 June 2024: the works on the second lot will not involve any closure of the road.
Via dell’Annona reopened
Good news for the people of Cremona: after about a year of workit was finally via dell’Annona reopened to traffic, in the included section between Persico and Macello streets.
The construction site, part of the safety project of the Search Cablesaw the creation of one new coverage of the watercourse and the redevelopment of the road abovewith the creation of a cycle path, new car parks and green spaces.
Green light for two-way traffic
Since yesterday’s reopening, via dell’Annona is passable in both directions for its entire length. The horizontal signs will be completed by Friday 7 June 2024, without however affecting traffic.
Asphalting in September
In the coming months, i permanent asphalting works in the sections affected by the first lot of works. The new road pavements will be ready for September 2024.
The second batch
While work on the first batch is being completed, it is already in the construction phase design the secondwhich will affect the section of the Search cable between the streets of Macello and Lucchini. In this case, the works will not result in road closuresas they will be carried out off the road.
Sustainable mobility and urban redevelopment
The Cavo Cerca safety project represents an important investment for the sustainable mobility and urban redevelopment of Cremona. The works will improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, as well as creating a new green space that can be used by citizens.
