Three Danish tourists were beaten and robbed last night in Via Venezia in Palermo. The three who had spent the evening and night in the clubs of the historic center were approached by some young people who beat them and robbed them. From the victims’ stories it seems that they first spent time together with the young immigrants, many of whom spend the day in the streets near Via Maqueda. Then the robbery began. The group of young people took away their wallets, money and cell phones. The three were rescued by the 118 health workers. The Carabinieri intervened and began the investigation through the victims’ stories and the images of the video surveillance systems in the area.
The Pier Robbery
He would have robbed a tourist at the trapezoidal pier in Palermo and a young man who was walking near Father Messina’s house and institute. The screams of one of the victims triggered the alarm and the chase which led to the arrest of a 32 year old young man. The alarm was raised by the woman who was allegedly threatened with a glass bottle by the young man. The victim also managed to take the smartphone and take a photo of her attacker who in the meantime fled trying to cover his tracks. The tourist started screaming and attracting the attention of the police officers on duty in the area. Shortly before, the same suspect allegedly threatened and robbed a young man who was in the Foro Italico area.
German tourist attacked and robbed in via Roma
A few weeks ago two young people attacked and beat a German tourist in via Roma near via Bologna in Palermo. The two blocked the victim with an excuse and then started fighting. They blocked the man and stole his smartphone. The investigations are conducted by the police who interviewed the victim and acquired images from the video surveillance systems in the streets in the area of the attack
