A Wednesday with Sofia. From Amici to Piazza del Papa: “I would like to entertain everyone”

Sofia Cagnetti will be the special guest of the university Wednesday in Piazza del Papa. The initiative, now in its second episode and strongly supported by the councilor for youth and nightlife, Marco Battino, will see as protagonist the Ancona dancer, fresh from the talent show ´ Amici´, hosted by Maria De Filippi. The 18-year-old lives in Torrette and on the show she spoke proudly about her city. Live on Canale 5, she stood out both for her talent and for the simplicity with which she faced the evening show (she was eliminated in the sixth episode last April 27th). The young woman is a student at the Urban Studios Ancona dance school, where she began her academic career at 13: “Dance and I are one. I never really started dancing because dance has always belonged to me.”

Sofia, what should we expect from tomorrow evening (8.30 pm)?

“I will bring some choreography, I would like to have fun and entertain the audience.”

On Canale 5, she succeeded…

“It was a good experience, although I thought it would be easier. Friends, it’s not at all a walk in the park like I initially thought. It was a journey full of emotions, but difficult. It left me with a lot, and frankly I’m still not understanding anything, I’m metabolizing , but little by little everything will come out over time.”

How do you handle sudden success at 18?

“It destabilizes you a lot. I like the warmth of people, but sometimes I feel uncomfortable and don’t know how to react in certain situations.” What relationship did you have with Maria De Filippi?

“She would connect to the house and we would see her at rehearsals. I admire her, she is someone who could live on an income and instead continues to work with passion.” What if I say Ancona?

“I answer home: here are my roots.”

Favorite place?

“When I want to regenerate, I escape to Colle Ameno, in Torrette. It’s nice, surrounded by nature, with spectacular sunsets.”

Is it linked to Piazza del Papa?

“In the centre, I don’t go out much due to lack of time. But with friends, if we want to spend a different evening, we go there.”

And at the seaside?

“I go wherever I happen to be: Portonovo, Mezzavalle, Numana, the Passetto caves. And obviously Torrette, where my childhood memories are.”

Is Ancona too tight for you?

“Absolutely not, it’s a cliché to say that to dance you have to go to a big city: it’s not true. The important thing is to study well.”

How did you get to ´Amici´?

“We were doing a showcase in Sirolo. A talent writer noticed me and took me to Rome.” How did the family take it? “Well, mum Marina and dad Luigi support me in everything.” Dreams in the drawer?

“I have many. Having only one goal, once achieved, would make me feel flat: I would say ´And now, what do we do?´”.
