“To Sospiri I reply: vote for Antonella Ballone? No thanks, we have Manola Di Pasquale who knows correctly what she is applying for”.
In the last week the electoral campaign has heated up in view of the European elections on 8 and 9 June and in a note the PD deputy Luciano D’Alfonso replies to the press release issued this morning by the press office of Antonella Ballone, Forza candidate Italy, as well as president of the Teramo-L’Aquila Chamber of Commerce.
The press release reports statements by the president of the Regional Council, Lorenzo Sospiri, also from FI: “Antonella Ballone is the only candidate from the Abruzzo centre-right who can get to Brussels, or rather: she is the only Abruzzo who can make it”, yes reads in the text, in which Ballone is indicated as the “candidate of all of Abruzzo”, without mentioning the other Forza Italia candidate, the architect and entrepreneur from L’Aquila Eliseo Iannini.
D’Alfonso observes: “Despite herself, Antonella Ballone does not deserve to be exploited. It would have been sufficient to nominate her in the Municipality, so she would have avoided confusing Parliament with the European Council. I don’t think anyone explained to her that it’s not a prize competition where the more you spend, the higher you get.”
“The Democratic Party has nominated an intelligent and competent Abruzzo native: Manola Di Pasquale – adds D’Alfonso -, a lawyer who knows well the difference between Parliament and the European Council. If we have to send someone to Strasbourg and Brussels, going beyond the logic of sides and positions, let it be at least someone who knows what he is doing, who does not vote for conflicts of interest and who does not put out bizarre press releases which aim to confuse Parliament and the Council, avoiding clearly to think that for the workers the employment contract with their family business could mean compliance with the electoral meetings for this or other elections”.
“Having said this, Antonella Ballone should be left alone, in the company in doing business and in the Chamber of Commerce in the same way, without forcing her into a very curious and repeated part-time job in multiple directions, since we take into account the considerable difficulties of each of the activity that he carries out”, concludes D’Alfonso.
