They acquitted him, overturning an eight-year first degree sentence. Fifth section of the Court of Appeal of Naples, the judges acquitted the entrepreneur of Vesuvian origins Adolfo Grecoduring an investigation that aimed to clarify two episodes of extortion.

A verdict that cancels the first degree conviction, at the end of the professor and lawyer’s defense work Vincenzo Maiellowho had set up the appeal together with his colleague Ettore Stravinodean of criminal lawyers who passed away a few months ago, as Professor Maiello himself recalled during his speech (the lawyer took over the panel Stefano Montone). A well-known figure, the acquitted entrepreneur. Years ago, the name of Adolfo Greco it was combined with the sale of the Medici castle which ended up in the availability of the Nco boss Raffaele Cutoloalthough other investigations have also been conducted on Greco in recent years by other investigative offices in the Neapolitan district.

At the moment, net of the acquittal signed by the judges of the Court of Appeal, Greco remains under accusation in the investigative matter linked to the management of the former Cirio area of Castellammare di Stabia (investigation conducted by the Dda of the Naples Prosecutor’s Office), while the Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere hypothesizes the accusation of external complicity in a Camorra association, in relation to relations with the Zagaria clan, in a scenario which also saw former managers of the former Parmalat group involved in various capacities.

In this last vein, Greco risks a ten-year prison sentence, obviously awaiting the defense replies after the recent indictment by the investigating office. But let’s go back to the Neapolitan acquittal on appeal. A verdict that welcomes the defense work for other defendants, represented – among others – by criminal lawyers Michele Riggi, Francesco Carotenuto and Francesco Romano.
