The giant Aixtron opens in Turin: huge investment in microchip production. New jobs
The German Aixtron expands its production presence in Europe and purchases a production site in Orbassano (Turin) to create machines for semiconductors.
Aixtron CEO Felix Grawert said he expects significant volume growth over the next two to three years thanks to this new location, which was chosen for the already existing ecosystem of suppliers and universities. The initial investment is 15 million euros, with the possibility of rising up to 100 million. The operation involves the hiring of 200 direct employees and the involvement of 2,000-4,000 people among suppliers.
