Following the previous official announcement which indicated the start of works for the long-awaited roundabout between via Selva and the Altamura ring road for today, 3 June 2024 (click here to read the news), the mayor of Altamura, Vitantonio Petronella, has used its social channels to update citizens on the status of the project.
“Finally! After years of promises and delays, the construction site of the roundabout between Via Selva and the ring road has been delivered”, began the mayor. However, he immediately clarified that “the delivery of the construction site does not mean that the works will begin tomorrow. It will take a period of time to secure the area, install signage and initiate procedures.”
This update comes unexpectedly for many residents who, confident in previous communications, expected the work to begin immediately. The mayor tried to reassure the citizens of Altamura, underlining the importance of adequate preparation of the construction site to guarantee the safety and speed of the works once they have begun. “We hope that this time the works proceed quickly and smoothly, given that our city has needed this project for too long,” added Mayor Petronella.
Finally, the mayor expressed his gratitude to the Anas leaders and technicians for their commitment and support in the project. The timing of the preliminary operations and the official start of the works long awaited by the Altamura community are not known at the moment.
