There are two European Championship matches in Germany that stand out on Sartori and Di Vaio’s agenda: Italy-Switzerland today and Holland-Romania on Tuesday. The reasons are obvious. The fate of Italy and the Netherlands will significantly influence the future of two key players: Riccardo Calafiori e Joshua Zirkzee. Calafiori, however, will not take the field today due to a disqualification, while Switzerland will see the presence of the three rossoblù Freuler, Aebischer e Ndoye. The continuation of the national teams at Euro 2024 will make it complex to make definitive decisions for the future of these players.
The situation of the two cards
The situation is different for the two players: Bologna has control over Calafiori as they own his contract, while for Zirkzee the decision is in the hands of the player and his agent, due to a €40 million release clause that applies to all potential buyers. Zirkzee continues to be in high demand, especially in the Premier League, and Bologna urgently need to understand whether the player intends to stay for another season or whether he has already decided to leave the club. Meanwhile, Fotis Ioannidis is still a frozen option with a proposal of almost 25 million to Panathinaikos, but the Greeks will not wait long.
