There are many young musical talents in our area. The association’s project is aimed at them and all those who love music “Ars Nova“, which for years has been promoting and carrying forward the ambitious project of “Municipal School of Music V. Terenzio” in Cerignola.

With the collaboration of Don Mimmo Marronepriest of the Parish of San Ferdinando Re in San Ferdinando di Puglia, Ars Nova organized the first edition of the “Interregional games in music“, which took place last weekend.

The association was born from the desire to combat the phenomenon of school dropout, the source of micro-delinquency present in our territory through mafia-fundism and mafia-culture actions.

The current municipal administration has taken the premises away from the availability of our Music School to continue the educational path started with our students, who often come from situations of socio-economic and cultural disadvantage. Strengthened by our desire to continue, we have found a valid collaborator in the person of Don Mimmo Marrone, with whom we announced the first edition of the Interregional Music Games”explained the Legal Officer of the Ars Nova Association.

The event, which took place in San Ferdinando di Puglia, boasted the participation of an authoritative jury, including the Albanian pianist Robert Bisha, who acted as cultural ambassador of the initiative. A group of professionals and teachers decreed the winners of this first edition of the musical competition, which took place between various participating academies: the “Il Preludio” Academy of Anastasia Romolo (Trani), the “Le stravaganze” Academy of Corato, the the “Ruta” Academy of Ruvo di Puglia, the “Biancofiore” Academy of Trani.

Many students from Cerignola won first prizes during the competition: Elisa Russo (piano category 100/100), Giorgia Gobbi (piano category 100/100), Rita Olga to Dapri (pop singing category 100/100), Sara Cibelli (pop singing category 100/100), Filippo Bonfanti (piano category 100/100), Alex Miao (piano category 100/100).

They also won the first overall prize Denise Graziano (lyric singing category 100/100), Roberto Caputo (100/100 opera singing category).
Among the hundreds of performances, the Ars Nova association with the Accademia Scuola Comunale della Musica “V. Terenzio” has therefore won medals and certificates of victory, confirming once again its important role within our territory.
