Ten islands to tell the nature of the Marche region land, sea, agriculture, living, mechanics, electricity, calculation, education and digital. The regional documentary exhibition was inaugurated in the former church of Santa Maria della Misericordia in Piazza Del Popolo, in San Severino Marche “WunderKammer Marche”, exhibition itinerary designed and curated by the engineer Oronzo Mauro with art installations by the architect Shura Oyarce Yuzzellidedicated to the Marche.

The only region of Italy in the plural but thought of in the singular, which truly represents, as in the title of the exhibition, a “chamber of wonders” in which a land of art, technology, a crossroads of ancient trade, illustrious people, scientific collecting, urban planning of all times and valuable archives is celebrated and represented.

In the very rich itinerary, made up of an impressive number of objects, even the first historic power plantperhaps unique in the world but certainly in Italy, which is presented here as entirely digitalised.

For the rest, the numbers of this cultural event give an idea of ​​what it represents: 10 islands of wonder, a region involved, 2 months of exhibition, 3 conferences scheduled, 2 promoting municipalities, a university collaborating, over 200 objects on display dating back to between 1850 and 1950, 50 explanatory posters, a great condensation of magic. The exhibition, with free entry, it will remain open until July 31st.

The vice president of the Marche region presided over the inauguration ceremony, Filippo Saltamartinitogether with the mayor of the city of San Severino Marche, the vice mayor and councilor for culture, Vanna Bianconithe municipal councilor for Tourism, Michela Pezzanesi, the president of the municipal council, Sandro Granata.

The exhibition follows the example of those that were held in the Marche region the “chambers of wonders” which allowed Federico da Montefeltro’s studios to be opened in his ducal palaces in Urbino and Gubbio around the 1480s.
