(ANSA) – ROME, JUNE 03 – The “Football is my life” tournament proves once again to be synonymous with joy, sport and union.
A day full of fun and smiles, therefore, that took place at the “Mirabello” stadium in Reggio Emilia, where male and female footballers with intellectual-relational disabilities and psychiatric pathologies took to the field. An event strongly desired and organized by Lega Pro, with the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region and thanks to the collaboration of AC Reggiana and the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division, in which Padova, Reggiana, Renate and Il Ponte took part, the team adopted by Lega Pro.
Many goals and great celebration during all the matches of the quadrangular, but it was the champions of Reggiana who lifted the cup thanks to the 1-0 victory in the final against Padova, who had overcome Renate in the semi-final with a result of 5-0. Third position for the team adopted by Lega Pro, Il Ponte, with a victory (4-1 against Renate) and a defeat (2-0 against Reggiana). This was followed by the joint press conference of Lega Pro and the Emilia-Romagna Region, which opened with greetings from the president of AC Reggiana Carmelo Salerno and the Councilor for Sport of Reggio Emilia Raffaella Curioni, at which the president spoke. of the Lega Pro, Matteo Marani, praising the initiative: “Football unites and the tournament organized by us, thanks to the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division and the hospitality of Reggiana, is proof of this. It’s nice to see kids smile and get excited with a ball: this is the essence of our work and it’s the reason that drives us to improve every day. I’m proud to be here as a representative of the sixty Serie C NOW clubs and I’m sure that it is of an initiative destined to last over time”. On the sidelines of the conference, Lega Pro handed over to the Emilia-Romagna Region the last part of the amount, collected last season in the Cesena-Reggiana derby, to help the cities affected by the 2023 flood.
