The Palio wins Florence for San Domenico. At Provaccia first Cantù for San Martino
Legnano – The eighth edition of the Basketball District Tournament, which took place on the weekend of June 2nd at the PalaBorsani and which saw Sancat Firenze victorious.
Born as an 8-team tournament, in this edition the Knights who have been organizing this event for years broke all records. With the qualifying tournament, 24 teams + 16 participated globally in the 2024 tournament, with over 400 boys from 2013 and 2014 involved; 6 Italian regions and 4 European nations for a total of over 70 matches played in 5 days on 6 city gyms. On the last day of competition, the two final rankings were outlined and individual prizes were also awarded after three days in which 44 games were played with 234 players involved.
“The numbers don’t tell everything, – declare from the Knights – but they hardly lie and this was certainly the edition with the highest numbers ever. An excellence of the city of Legnano such as the Palio with the most practiced sport i.e. Basketball; a combination that stimulates curious people both as companies and as fans who filled the PalaBorsani on Sunday with almost 1000 people present”.
