Ravenna Teatro brings the show “Don Chisciotte ad ardere, opera in fieri” to Bologna at the “E-State in museo” exhibition

Start Thursday 6 June at 6pm with the event “In the footsteps of Cervantes” edited by Ravenna Teatro la summer review “E-State in Museum”a series of events included within Bologna Estate 2024, the program of activities promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Bologna and the Metropolitan City of Bologna – Bologna-Modena Tourist Territory.

The first appointment is with Yolanda Sabaté by Hispania Asociación Culturalto follow in the footsteps of Juan and Antonio, the two protagonists of the novel by Miguel de Cervantes in search of Mrs. Cornelia in the city of Bologna. Cervantes’ masterpiece, the Don chisciottetogether with Alessandro Argnani and Roberto Magnani of Ravenna Teatro/Albe who will presentwith images and videos, Don Quixote to burn, work in progress 2024. The evening, in fact, also takes the form of one presentation of the second door of the three-year project dedicated to the work of Cervantes (2023-25) Don Quixote to burn, work in progress 2024created by Ermanna Montanari and Marco Martinelli, founders of the Teatro delle Albe di Ravenna, which will take place in Ravenna from 26 June to 7 July as part of the Ravenna Festival, which is co-producer and which sees the collaboration with the General Management Museums Emilia-Romagna.
The central point from which the novel’s bringing to life begins is the suggestion made by Don Quixote to the faithful Sancho: «You must keep in mind, always before your eyes, what you are, trying to know yourself, which is the most difficult knowledge. that one can imagine”. This is how the story transforms into an allegory of the initiatory journey within oneself and Don Quixote becomes a symbol of the “ardent” dreamer incapable of resigning himself to injustices. An invitation to become active spectators always, on the scene and in life.

At the end of the evening, aperitif on the museum terrace. The initiative is promoted by the Raccolta Lercaro museum in collaboration with Hispania Asociación Cultural. Entrance is free.

Artist’s words – Conversation on the “Movimenti” exhibition with Antonio Violetta, moderated by Giovanni Gardini, director of the Lercaro Collection.
Movimenti presents a series of sculptures and drawings by Antonio Violetta that cover a time span from 1983 to 2021, taking the form of an important retrospective on all of his artistic research: the Kölner Seitenthe Pages, the Movements, the Arias up to more recent works such as the Annunciation and the Canti Dolorosi, an intense triptych that draws its inspiration from the Third Symphony Op. 36, music of poignant beauty composed by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki in 1976. The exhibition it will remain open until September 15th.
