A weekend of bowls for the women’s teams who played a regional and a national match.
The 2nd Memorial Ivana Arati, a regional individual women’s competition, organized by ASD Bocce Arezzo, took place on Saturday 1st June in Arezzo at the Municipal Bocciodromo. There were 25 athletes present at the race, from the cat. ABCD.
The winner of the event was Annunziata Gattaponi (Bocc. C. di Bastia) who beat Lorita Leonori (ASD Bocce Arezzo) 12-7 in the final. Third place for Giulia Pierozzi (ASD Cortona Bocce) and Ketty Tacconi (ASD Prato Bocce).
The 21st City of Cortona Trophy – Memorial E. Basanieri, a national individual women’s competition organized by Cortona Bocce, took place on Sunday 2 June in Cortona at the Municipal Bocciodromo. 45 cat athletes took part in the race. ABC.
The winner of the trophy was Chiara Gasperini (Lucrezia), who beat the Tuscan athlete Rachele Maggio (ASD Cortona Bocce) 12-6 in the final. Third place for Giulia Pierozzi (ASD Cortona Bocce) and Lorita Leonori (ASD Bocce Arezzo).
Present at the awards ceremony were the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Cortona Silvia Spensierati, the Basanieri family and the FIB Arezzo Siena Territorial Delegate Armando Martini.
A very positive weekend for the Tuscan athletes, who achieved excellent results, in particular for Rachele Maggio, Giulia Pierozzi, Lorita Leonori and Ketty Tacconi.
