Republic Day in Rome, two mayors of the Agrigento area were present at the mayors’ parade: Stefano Castellino and Luigi Nigrelli

Yesterday, June 2, on the occasion of Republic Day, 300 mayors from all over Italy marched at the Fori Imperiali in Rome. From the province of Agrigento, present the first citizens of Palma di Montechiaro, Stefano Castellino and of Comitini, Luigi Nigrelli. The theme of this year’s celebrations was “In defense of the Republic. At the service of the country”. The mayors met in Piazza della Navicella and, after a greeting from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, they began the parade.
“A great emotion – say Castellino and Nigrelli – the participation of the mayors in the Republic Day is important, an event that has seen us in the front row since 2016, with the exception of the years 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. It is the seventh year that the mayors have participated in the front row at Republic Day with their tricolor bands, a symbol of the country’s unity and loyalty to the Constitution”.
For the two mayors there was also a very special photo with Francesco Sammartino and Gloria Nardello, members of the Italian Army Material Transport Band.
