Avellino was fined by the Sports Judge after the semi-final return match, played on Sunday evening at the Menti stadium. The club was punished with a fine of 2500 euros “for actions contrary to the rules on order and safety and for violent actions committed by its supporters, located in the North Standing Sector, which pose a risk to public safety”. The Irpinia fans threw a flare onto the pitch at the start of the match and a glass full of liquid at the end of the first half of the game. Halfway through the second half, a green and white supporter climbed over the barriers of the North Standing Sector, attempting to steal a flag, but was stopped by the police before he could reach the Distinti. At that moment – between the 64th and 68th minute – five firecrackers and two smoke bombs were thrown, conduct that led to the match being suspended for four minutes. Two audio speakers located near the barriers in the North Standing Sector were also damaged.
