The XXIII edition of the national event “SottoSopra” promoted by ANPIS (National Association for social inclusion) in collaboration with Area Tour, Lega Navale di Crotone and Cariati, Consorzio Jobel and with the patronage of the Municipalities of Crotone and Cariati.
The initiative was presented by the mayor Vincenzo Voce, the national president of ANPIS Roberto Grelloni, the tourism councilor of the Municipality of Crotone Maria Bruni, the president of the Naval League of Crotone Gianni Liotti.
The president of the III Council Commission Antonella Passalacqua and the new Anpis regional representative Stefano Liotti were present.
ANPIS is a reality operating throughout the national territory where in the last 24 years it has launched interesting experiences in favor of citizens with mental health problems through the help of sports disciplines, implemented with cultural, theatrical and musical activities.
The 23rd edition of the “Sottosopra” event will be held from 3 to 8 June 2024 and will see the participation of around 600 people with problems related to mental distress, who will experience a week together with operators, volunteers and family members.
They will participate in scheduled events ranging from sport to music through theater, boat excursions, trips to discover the area, artistic street events and meetings related to the themes of social inclusion with the participation of citizens and institutions.
In the city, in particular, they will visit the Carlo V Castle, the museum and gardens of Pythagoras and the archaeological area and the archaeological museum of Capo Colonna, with the aim of giving participants a unique experience and discovering the natural beauty of the territory.
“We are particularly happy that Anpis has also thought of the city of Crotone for this event which has reached its 23rd edition and whose aims are particularly important. We immediately expressed our willingness to support the organization and we are certain that our guests will be able to appreciate not only the beauty of our city but also its sense of welcome and hospitality” said councilor Bruni.
