the tax for Agrigento residents is slightly decreasing

The reduction is less than one percentage point, but it is enough to climb – for once – the rankings in a positive sense. Agrigento city is no longer among the Italian cities where the Tari, the waste tax, is the highest.

This is stated in the report produced annually by Uil, which has removed the city of temples from the uncoveted top 10 of centers where you pay more to dispose of waste. In particular, the capital saw a reduction of 0.77% in the tax, going from 471 euros to 467 euros. The tax taken as reference by the union’s study center is the one calculated on a family of four, residing in a house of 80 square meters and with an ISEE income of 25 thousand euros.

Looking at the evolution of the cost, if in 2018 it was 477 euros for the same type of user, the amount has had several downward and upward fluctuations, with a peak in 2021 of 488.2 euros and then the decline that occurred in 2023 thanks to the greater revenue from collection activity.

If you want to look elsewhere, in the centers where the waste service costs less, the most virtuous city is Belluno with its 178 euros: almost a third of what is generally paid in the South.
