Tibre, historic Lombardy-Emilia agreement. Is Cremona-Mantua closer?

For the first time there is an agreement. An agreement to unlock a work that has been awaited – also by the Casalasco and Cremonese areas – for over 40 years. We are talking about Tibre and, if the promises and signatures are followed by facts, the news could have historic significance.

Emilia Romagna, where Tibre is currently dying, in the middle of the Trecasali countryside, and Lombardy have in fact signed a bipartisan agreement in which they define the work as strategici.e. the 81 kilometer connection that connects the Autocisa in Fontevivo to the Brennero motorway in Nogarole Rocca (hence the name Tirreno-Brennero, or Tibre), and they have thus signed a memorandum of understanding.

The same ended up on the table of Ministry of Infrastructure, who now has the ball at his feet, who must start the process. There is optimism on this level, because no later than ten days ago Minister Salvini himself, on a visit to the Parma area, spoke of Tibre as an absolutely strategic work. In short, in words there is an agreement, now there is also a signed document and therefore the commitment to find resources and carry on the work should not be lacking.

As is known, the Tibre motorway affects Casalasco, because it actually borders it along the route and because, as a compensatory work for an agreement now over 40 years old, the famous ring road was also to be created which could free up the traffic of 15 thousand vehicles per hour. day (some of which are heavy) the Asolana, thus freeing from a yoke of slowdowns and pollution (as well as danger) both the town center of Casalmaggiore and that of San Giovanni in Croce, both cut in two by the 343.

What happens now? Now the ball passes to the Government, but for the first time the three main actors (the two Regions and the Ministry) agree to accelerate the work. It hadn’t happened in the past yet. Furthermore, the Tibre would bring with it a development of the Cispadana, from Trecasali to Mezzani, still in the Parma area but always very close to Casalasco and above all, as known from the original project, it would fill that 8 km gap found between Bozzolo and Calvatone on the Cremona-Mantua motorway which, again according to the initial intentions and documents, is an infrastructure connected to Tibre.

Meanwhile, regarding Tibre, there are those who, like the president of the Unione Parmense degli Industriali Gabriele Buia, proposes to push the Gavio family – concessionaire of the A21 through Autovia Padana as well as owner of Autocisa and concessionaire of Tibre – to take action for a project financing, which does not force us to wait for public funds, speeding up the time.
