Atrocious insult for Vigor Lamezia achieved in Bisceglie in the 98th minute in the last action of the second leg playoff semi-final. Mr. Fanello’s green-and-whites, forced to win in Puglia after the 3-3 in the first leg at D’Ippolito, did everything very well but came within an inch of the finish line. Bisceglie grabbed a last-gasp equalizer and, considering the equal number of goals scored in the double match, earned the final by virtue of the 3 goals scored away from home. A mocking condemnation for Vigor, followed in Puglia by many fans who colored the guest sector of the “Gustavo Ventura” green and white.
Vigor had broken the deadlock with Bernardi in the 53rd minute. Then two huge opportunities for the green and whites to round off the score and put Bisceglie on the ropes who instead were pardoned and remained in the game. And so in full recovery came the leap from Lucero who grabbed the equalizer and gave the final to the Apulians who will always face the Amalfi Coast with home and away matches who in turn eliminated the Lucanians of Calcio San Cataldo. We win the final and enter Serie D. For Vigor Lamezia, however, there are only faint hopes of repechage but the great performance remains for courage, ardor and generosity. Too bad only for the final distraction at the last breath that condemns a beautiful and tough Vigor, greeted with loud applause by its many fans who arrived in Bisceglie.
