Petrarca sews the 15th tricolor

Scudetto number 93 of the top rugby championship goes to Petrarca Padova. It is therefore Andrea Marcato’s XV that unpicks the scudetto from the Femi Cz Rovigo shirt, completing the work that he had started in the semi-final on 15 May when he beat the Bersaglieri 24-22 at the Battaglini.

A Petrarca Padova who had never won in the championship this year either against Femi Cz Rovigo or against Viadana: however, he managed to do so in the key moment of the season. The tuttineri, thus, sew the 15th scudetto in their history on their chest (overtaking Rovigo, at 14) at the end of a final that saw him trail only in the opening minutes, due to the kick conceded. Then, two goals scored by Esposito and Trotta; then a technical goal for Viadana which temporarily reopens the match before a new Lombard goal canceled out in the final of the half.

In the second half, Petrarca thought above all about finishing well, and Lyle’s foot created the decisive break. Success sealed in the final by Fernadez’s goal: 10-28 and championship in Padua. Well deserved rest now. Next Serie A Elite with 10 teams, with Lazio joining the nine teams this season.
