For the 78th anniversary of the foundation of the Italian Republic, Mayor Michele de Pascale wanted to thank the citizens «on 2 June 1946 they made that choice so important for the future of Italy, choosing the Republic». In all 52,719, to be precise, equal to 88.52%, “the best result in all of Italy”.

Yesterday morning, during the traditional ceremony in Piazza del Popolo, the prefect Castrese De Rosa awarded 12 honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and 6 Stars of Merit for Work. Also honored were the 3 young Standard Bearers of the Republic awarded by President Mattarella at the Quirinale on May 13th: Matteo Violani from Faenza, Letizia Galletti from Lugo and Guido Betti from Ravenna. The Prefect also invited Carabinieri Officer Giulio Nicolò, serving in Faenza, a military symbol of altruism in the May 2023 flood, to the ceremony in the Square.

«I would like to thank – declared the Prefect Castrese De Rosa – the Port Authority, the Municipality of Ravenna, all the combat and arms associations, the civil, religious and military authorities, the police and military forces, the representatives of the civil protection associations and voluntary associations of all the police forces on leave for having collaborated in the organization of the program for the celebrations of this 78th Anniversary of the Republic”.

The awards of merit were given to Arnaldo Agresta, deputy prefect for the valuable contribution provided in the complex management of the Civil Protection activities and services of the Prefecture, Massimo Cavallone, Regional Secretary of the Cri, Casimiro Franza, commander of the Services Platoon of the Foce range Reno who actively participated in the intervention operations for the sea invasions which occurred on 22 November 2022 and 22 January 2023 which affected Casalbosetti, the deputy mayor Eugenio Fusignani, the accountant Gianni Ghirardini, founder of the city’s Lions Club, the retired barber Cesare Giuliani for his commitment to the growth and development of the hairdressing category, Stefano Pace of the Cuore e Territorio association, to the nurse Federico Villa, already awarded by the prefect for the rescue of a woman who fell ill while she was in the car, Federico Mercati, head of the fire department, Elena Zannoni, also involved in the protection and reception of children and families in need, Anthony Manno, chosen member of the force at the Company of Faenza, to lieutenant Giuseppe Palumbo in service at the Company of Faenza for his commitment in the planning and organization of sporting events in total safety.

Awarded as Masters of Work were Patrizia Fiorini, employee of Poste Italiane, Vittorio Melandri, employee of the Mmb company of Faenza, Davide Ricci, employee of Enginnerig Ipm of Lugo, Giampiero Sabbatani, general manager of Cab Massari of Conselice and Mauro Salvaori, employee of Enginnerig Ipm of Lugo.
