Yari Fa, a 19-year-old already known to the police, is accused of voluntary manslaughter and will soon be transferred to Uta prison. He is the alleged killer of Fabio Pigathe 37-year-old stabbed in the chest inside the Donegal pub in via Caprera, right in the center of Cagliari. The incident occurred shortly after 3am.
The flying squad investigators worked all day to reconstruct what happened inside the room. Apparently the two had an argument inside the bathrooms. From what some customers say, Piga sometimes worked in the security room and perhaps for this reason he argued with the 19 year old. A fight broke out between the two and Yari Fa was said to have wielded a knife found in the bathroom (its origin still to be clarified), repeatedly attempting to hit the 36-year-old and then hitting him in the chest. The 19-year-old was blocked by the other security personnel at the venue. The agents of the Cagliari flying squad and colleagues from the Quartu police station then arrived on site and stopped the 19-year-old. Meanwhile, the doctors of 118 tried to save Fabio Piga’s life, but to no avail. The flying squad investigators then arrived on site and began investigations which concluded a short while ago with the arrest of the 19-year-old. The murder weapon has been recovered.
