Pomarico. The Renewable Energy Community is born in Pomarico. Mayor Francesco Mancini announced this to the citizens through a note from the Municipality which reads: “The first Renewable Community has been established in Pomarico: an idea of the Municipal Councilor Francesco Camardo and embraced in the field by a group of local young people, who in the presence of the Mayor they signed the Articles of Association of the “Pomarico 1 Energy Community”. CER Pomarico 1, by statute, will join a second level association “Gaia Energia”, a Copagri project aimed at promoting and developing agroenergy in the area”.
For his part, the mayor Mancini said he was satisfied with the initiative, declaring: “Moments of crisis can only be overcome by joining forces and ideas, having the idea of community as the fulcrum of the project”, promising to do everything possible so that CER Pomarico 1 can develop agroenergy projects in the area that put farmers at the center, bringing benefits to the entire Pomarico community.
The associative proposal – explains Mancini – will be aimed mainly at agricultural producers, in fact, the preliminary work of Councilor Camardo who holds the delegation for agriculture and who has long insisted on the promotion of agroenergy was fundamental. The energy crisis and the agricultural sector – we read further in the note – have meant that at the Community and Ministerial tables, there is talk of forms of income support for farmers, the latter linked to the development of agroenergy which aims at the construction of plants from renewable energy sources, capable of producing energy without using the soil, preserving crops and agricultural production.
Filling the role of President of CER Pomarico 1 – the Mayor announces – will be Nicola Colasurdo, a professional nurse, who has always been involved in the family agricultural business and in social work: very satisfied as the municipal administration has embraced the project by adhering to the Energy Community with Council Resolution n.1 of 11 January 2023. In this way we will be able to design and structure a CER that looks at the citizen and agricultural entrepreneurs. The role of Vice President – concludes the note – will be covered by Dr. Domenico Adduce, while the roles of Treasurer, Secretary and advisor will be covered respectively by Eng. Marco Bengiovanni, Rag. Vittoria Varuolo and Mr. Francesco Salerno, a group of professionals united by the desire to contribute to the development of this green economy, each contributing their own ideas and skills”.
