This is the press release issued by the Caserta Tennis Club: “The matches between Miriana Galietta and the Russian Anna Zyryanova on court 1 and between Angelica Raggi and Virginia Ferrara on court 2 scheduled for 9.30 am on June 2nd will officially inaugurate the series of matches of the thirty-fifth edition of the Women’s International Tennis City of Caserta – Cogepa Trophy with prize money of $ 60,000.00 which will take place on the courts of the tennis club – we read in the press release – in via Laviano in Caserta.
On the afternoon of Saturday 1st June, the ITF supervisor Guido Pezzella carried out the draw and then drew up the qualifying scoreboard which will establish the best eight players who will advance to the singles Main Draw from Tuesday. The matches of the singles tournament qualifying draw will be played on Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd June. As usual, the doubles tournament will also take place at the same time – we read again – which will end on Saturday evening.
On Monday evening at the conclusion of the qualifying draw, the organizing club, Tennis Club Caserta chaired by Massimo Rossi, organized the “main draw ceremony” in the evening on the terrace of the club house and followed by the “welcom party” in honor of the athletes: buffet and music for them. Both competitions will be completed next weekend: Saturday evening 8 June with the final of the doubles draw and Sunday afternoon 9 June with the final of the singles tournament which will designate the winner or the one who will enter her name in the roll of honor which took place for the first time in 1982. On field 2, after the opening match, the matches between Angelica Raggi and Virginia Ferrara will follow; Greta Greco Lucchina against Romanian Maria Toma; then Benedetta Ortensi against Camilla Gennaro; Celeste Faustini against Gaia Squarcialupi; the Colombian Yuiliana Lizarazo against Costanza Traversi. The results and news of the tournament will be published on the official tournament website ‘tcaserta.it’, on the Facebook and Instagram pages “Tennis Club Caserta”, where posts will be published on the two social channels by the Fairness Agency.
