They intercepted a jeep which had been reported several times as a vehicle used by criminals to carry out thefts. The Carabinieri of Massa, engaged in the usual activity of preventing crimes against property, stopped the vehicle with two people on board, right in the center.
At that point the soldiers decided to inspect the vehicle and only at that point, to the considerable amazement of the police officers operating, they found not lock picks but drugs. The two had, well hidden in the underwear, cocaine and hashish. Later, in the home of the older of the two, they were found and seized a pistol and a hunting rifle with abraded serial numbers, a compressed air rifle and numerous ammunition. The man, a 51-year-old local, who had failed to declare possession of approximately 120 grams of cocaine and the not secondary circumstance of having a small arsenal at home, was arrested for illegal possession of weapons and drugs and taken to Massa prison. In the following days, the arrested person was subjected to a warrant interrogation by the investigating judge of the Court of Massa who, after having listened to his defense reasons, validated the arrest by ordering the continuation of the precautionary measure in prison pending the judgment of merit.
The driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old local man, who was found in possession of 5 grams of hashish, was reported to the local Prefecture and his driving license was withdrawn.
