Works of art that communicate with each other even hundreds of kilometers away, with the visitor invited to touch and listen to them to connect with the artist’s message. It will stop in APiceno drains the exhibition-event “Cultural Landscapes of One and Multiple Europe” which made its debut in the European Parliament in Strasbourg last February and which is now hosted in Teramo.

While a special preview is scheduled for Wednesday 29 May at the headquarters ofItalian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Ascoli Piceno, in the presence of the Uici national president, Mario Barbutoand one of the artists, Licia Galizia.

At the end of the year – explains Gigliola Chiappini, president of Uici of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo – the exhibition will be hosted in Ascoli, in different areas of the city, while on Wednesday we will have the pleasure of previewing one of the works in the ‘Officina dei Sensi’ Centre, in via Copernico. For us it is a very significant event because these are works that communicate with the visitor, emitting sounds when they are touched: an interaction that cancels distances and puts us all on the same level”.

The Ascoli preview includes the exhibition of an adaptive and interactive sculptural-musical work created by Licia Galizia (material part) in collaboration with Michelangelo Luponi (musical part). The exhibition will be open to visitors from 4.00 pm on May 29th during an event promoted by the Uici of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo, with the collaboration of the Social Cooperative Vademecum of Ascoli, the patronage of Lions 108th District and together with COPE – Punto Europa Consortium, creator of the exhibition.

We are extremely proud to stop in Ascoli at the Uici – the applause of the President of the Punto Europa Consortium, Filippo Lucci -, increasingly aware that the works of Galizia and Lupone, in drawing a bridge between territories and peoples, represent a triumph of inclusiveness and accessibility and demonstrate how artistic perception cannot be limited to sight alone. These sculptures allow anyone to interact with art in a profound and meaningful way, touching emotional chords also through touch and sound. Even more so on the part of those who have had to develop a more acute sensitivity in valorising, with the other senses, what is matter shaped to communicate, surprise and fascinate”.

The artistic event aims to be an opportunity for reflection on the universal value of Culture which, through research, technology and a new approach to art, projects itself into the future. Free admission.
