Excellency, Vigor Lamezia cancels Bisceglie’s advantage

It seemed that Bisceglie had already got their hands on the playoff final, but Vigor Lamezia didn’t give up and within 5 minutes they equalized, despite an excellent performance from Suma.

After an initial study phase, it was Bisceglie who created the first scoring opportunity: in the 10th minute, Fucci tried a shot to cross right-footed, sending the ball just wide. The hosts reacted with Curcio on a free kick, which forced Suma to make an excellent save, and with Vilella, who however was unable to find the target. Bisceglie struggled a bit to find their rhythm, but managed to break the deadlock on the half hour mark. Di Rito, from the right, attempted a shot towards the goal and a lucky deflection by the home goalkeeper sent the ball into the net. The joy of the lead did not last long, as Vigor Lamezia found the equalizer just 3 minutes later. A naivety from Morisco awarded the home team a free kick, with a move that freed Bernardi in the heart of the area, allowing him to score.

In the second half, the match became even more intense. In the 10th minute, Bisceglie took the lead again thanks to Kone. A few minutes later, Nicholas Di Rito scored the 1-3 goal, making the victory seem assured for Bisceglie. However, Vigor Lamezia did not give up. At the half hour mark, Foderaro closed the gap with a volley, beating an innocent Suma. Four minutes later, the Nerazzurri goalkeeper outdid himself by saving first Bernardi’s penalty and then Catania’s subsequent shot. Despite this, Catania did not miss the second chance, bringing the score back to 3-3. The hosts continued to press even in the final minutes, putting Bisceglie under pressure and creating some thrills for the guests.

On Sunday 2 June the Nerazzurri will return to the “Ventura” for the return match where the results available will be two out of three.
