100 km of the Passatore, Federico Furiani triumphs

Faenza (Ravenna), 26 May 2024 – Running in the Romagna night in search of the first, historic, success, the first participation in the equally historic One Hundred Kilometers of the Passatorethe most famous hundred in the world, as the winner himself, the Perugian, defined it Federico Furiani who covers the distance between Piazza Duomo in Florence and Piazza del Popolo in Faenza in 7 hours, 10′ and 57”, overtaking two other Italian runners, Massimo Giacopuzzi of Us Dolomitica who, however, arrives on the square in Faenza 7′ 23” behind and the Bolognese David Colganmember of Atletica Castenaso Celtic Druid who arrives 15′ 27” behind the winner but, thanks to this fantastic performance not only gets on the podium of the Cento but also wins the famous Triptych of Romagnaor the combined ranking – for race times – of Lamone Marathon, 50 kilometers of Romagna and, indeed, the One Hundred Kilometers of the Passatore.

Furiani dominated the race, taking the lead on practically all the intermediate passages, from Colla to Brisighella and then to Faenza, also overcoming the moments of difficulty inevitable in such a long race, as we have seen with the Cape Verdean Duartefirst in Borgo San Lorenzo and fighting for a long time with Furiani before collapsing at the end, finishing only in seventh place.

Very good and winner among the 685 women Federica Moroni, 13th overall, finishing her effort in 7 hours 53′ 01” ahead of Serena Natoli, of the Alpine Parachute Regiment, 1′ 55” behind and Silvia Luna, second for a long time. A race that does not only concern the great runners but also the many amateurs who run for a challenge against themselves the ultramarathon which crosses the Apennines.

They are well 2,593 athletes passed through in good time at the finish line in Piazza del Popolo: Tiziano Tamelli (Traillab) is the last to raise his arms on the finish line in a time of 19 hours 16′ 35”, 12 hours 5′ 37” behind the winner.

The order of arrival of the 49th edition: 1st Federico Furiani (TX Fitness) in 7 hours, 10′ and 57”; 2nd Massimo Giacopuzzi (Us Dolomitica) at 7′ 22”; 3rd David Colgan (Atletica Castenaso Celtic Druid) at 15′ 27”; 4th Ferrante at 16′ 12”; 5th Camprincoli (Gp Avis Forlì) at 19′ 03; 6th Macchi (Fidal Runcard) at 22′ 18”; 7th Duarte Oliveira (Cape Verde) at 25′ 21”; 8th Pecora (Liferunner) at 27′ 13”; 9th Bovanini (Avis Castel San Pietro) at 29′ 28”; 10th Turroni (One Hundred Kilometers of the Passatore) at 34′ 09”.

In the women’s field: 1st Federica Moroni (Dinamo Sport) in 7′ 53” 01; 2nd Serena Natolini (Army) at 1′ 55”; 3rd Silvia Luna (Grottini Team) at 8′ 05”.
