“Seniors removed from the rally and identified”: “mystery” on the electoral rally

“On the occasion of a public meeting organized by the centre-right coalition in the hamlet of Belfiore, two elderly men, belonging to the Belfiore Sports Union, were removed and identified in a completely unjustified manner by a plainclothes law enforcement officer because they they are presented with a sign around their neck in which they peacefully asked the mayor and his supporters for a headquarters for the town’s associations”.

It is “yellow” on the electoral campaign currently underway in Foligno. Uniamo Foligno, the progressive coalition led by mayoral candidate Mauro Masciotti, reported what happened on Thursday evening. The centre-left team, in a note, reconstructs what allegedly happened during the electoral meeting: “The two men were prevented from entering the structure where the public meeting was held because they were accused by the representative of the forces of order to bring disorder and danger to the meeting place – they say from Uniamo Foligno -. The two were then invited by the public official to provide their personal details without receiving back a report that could attest to the recognition and action taken on his part”.

For the progressive coalition, what happened is “a very serious fact, an intimidation in all respects towards those who wanted to peacefully make their requests reach the mayor and that facts of this kind must also be condemned by those who currently represent the most the city institutions as freedom of expression has been severely limited – they conclude – a value enshrined and protected by our Constitution”.
