After greetings and thanks for the good work done to the coach Sasà Marra and the sporting director Agatino Chiavaro, Acireale immediately restarted from Michele Facciolo, who will be the new coach, and from the sporting director Ettore Meli, both coming from an excellent year at the City of Sant’Agata. Calabrian, born in 1964, before coaching in Sant’Agata di Militello, Facciolo collected important experiences as a deputy, above all, with a great former Acireale player, Giacomo Modica, in places such as Messina, Vibo Valentia and Cava dei Tirreni. His debut on the bench dates back to the 2000-2001 season, when he already showed an idea of football aimed at playing the game, presenting teams on the pitch that are beautiful to look at and capable of offering fans entertaining football. This is an idea rooted in him together with the attention paid to young people, to be followed and made to grow through targeted work.
Meli has contributed significantly to the rise of Città di Sant’Agata with prestigious placings in recent years, thanks to the construction of teams capable of expressing a sparkling and effective game. His presence alongside Mr. Facciolo strengthens a partnership, which the Acese management hopes will bring significant results. Both met the owners of the Granata club, in the persons of Giovanni Di Mauro and Enrico Strano, reaching an agreement for the next competitive season. There will soon be a press conference to present the continuation of the project to the city.
