A violent storm, with heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind, hit the province of Forlì Cesena in the early afternoon, causing quite a few inconveniences. Hundreds of millimeters of rain fell in a short time in limited areas. Flooded roads and critical issues also in the underpasses and in some homes with gardens whitened by hailstones. The Cesena Fair where the international assembly of the Pope John XXIII Community was taking place also ended up practically under water with thousands of people expected from all over the world and also many people from Rimini. At 6 pm the Bishop of Rimini Nicolò Anselmi was supposed to celebrate Mass. The heavy rainfall that fell in a few minutes has flooded a large part of the structure with the manholes no longer able to receive water. They intervened on site the firefighters who cleared it out the halls and made people flow away near the exits of the Fair. The gathering returned in 2024 after the stops due to the pandemic and last year’s flood in Romagna.

For today, ayellow alert (the one of least intensity) for thunderstorms across the entire Region.

The Forlì ring road from km 0 to km 7.962 is temporarily closed due to flooding.
