The event “Discover…I LOVE Lilibeo” will be held on Tuesday 28 May at 4pm at the Lilibeo Archaeological Museum. The event, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of UNICEF ITALIA, is organized by the Istituto Comprensivo “G. Sirtori” of Marsala, directed by the Headmaster Giancarlo Lentini, with the collaboration of the “Archaeological Park of Lilibeo-Marsala”, directed by the architect Anna Occhipinti and with the coordination of the teacher Valentina Conticelli contact person for “Human Rights and Unicef Friendly School ” and Dr. Eleonora Romano, head of the Park’s educational services.
The “Sirtori” IC of Marsala has always carried out initiatives focused on values and issues of social and civil interest and, above all, for almost 10 years, on issues protecting the rights of boys and girls, taking on a very active role as Unicef Friendly School. The project is inspired by a particularly important child right, fundamental in democracies: the right to education, constitutionally recognized and also reaffirmed by objective 4 of the 2030 Agenda, according to which quality, inclusive, fair. From this perspective, IC Sirtori finalized its intervention by involving the pupils of all the fifth grades of primary school, the true recipients of the training course, who put themselves on the line, experimenting with experiences of active and conscious citizenship, based on development of knowledge and skills acquired from the study of goods of historical, archaeological and artistic interest on display. During the event the students of the “Sirtori” Comprehensive Institute will be the “GUIDES FOR A DAY” accompanying visitors on a fascinating journey through art and archeology inside the museum rooms, where the artistic works from their own products. Citizens are invited to intervene.
