In a surreal scenario like that of the municipal Olympic swimming pool in Palermo completely closed due to the unusability of the facility, TeLiMar returns to victory in the first act of the finals for seventh and eighth place in the Sere A1 championship men’s water polo.
Against Water Polo Trieste, a match still led by the home team ends 10-9, except for the initial 0-1. “After so many defeats, it was nice to savor the joy of a victory again. We led – comments the 2011 world champion striker with Settebello Alex Giorgetti – even with a multiple goal advantage at various times, but we were a bit naive and unlucky on some occasions”.
“The important thing was to stay calm and stay on track until the end, because we want to finish well. These matches for seventh place are already complicated, because the fact of not having managed to enter Europe hurts. And they are even more difficult if you play them without an audience to support you. Now we’re going to Trieste to be able to close the matter, giving our best”, concludes Giorgetti.
