Benevento, Antonella Ruggiero’s highly anticipated concert-event on Saturday – NTR24.TV

Antonella Ruggiero finally arrives in Benevento for the highly anticipated concert-event, already sold out for some time, in the Accademia di Santa Sofia season.

On Saturday 25 May at 8.00 pm, at the Sant’Agostino Auditorium, the great artist will be accompanied by the “N. Sala” in Benevento conducted by Francesco D’Ovidio, with the participation of Davide Cavuti on accordion and arrangements and orchestration by Umberto Aucone.

The event is part of the 2023/2024 Concert Season, artistically directed by Filippo Zigante and Marcella Parziale, with Aglaia McClintock as scientific consultant, proposed by the Accademia di S.Sofia, in collaboration with the University of Sannio and the Benevento Conservatory. From this year, Banco Bpm also supports the Accademia di Santa Sofia. Supporting culture and promoting its diffusion across the territories, including through musical initiatives, represents a concrete commitment for the Bank in favor of communities.

Antonella Ruggiero, a very refined lady of Italian song, would need no introduction but let’s remember that the famous singer is the unique and unforgettable voice who founded and made Matia Bazar famous in Italy and around the world. With them she recorded songs that enter the classic repertoire of Italian pop music: from “Stasera che sera” to “Per un’ora d’amore”, up to the unforgettable “Roman Holidays” (Critics Award at Sanremo 1983). In 1989 she left the group and, after a seven-year “suspension”, she embarked on a career as a soloist, moving from pop to opera. In 1996 she opened the concerts of the Italian stages of Sting’s tour, two years later she came second at the Sanremo Festival with “Amore distant”. His solo career continues full of successes, marked by research and experimentation.

The usual prelude to the concert will be curated by Antonella Tartaglia Polcini, UNISANNIO professor of Private Law and Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Benevento, with a speech entitled “The time of law”.

Accademia di Santa Sofia reminds you that the long-awaited concert dedicated to Pino Daniele “Yes I know my way” scheduled to close the season on Thursday 30 May 2024 has been postponed to Friday 7 June, again at 8.00 pm and always at the Auditorium Saint Augustine of Benevento.

The Academy also reminds you that this concert is offered free of charge to all season ticket holders who can show up at the entrance with a ticket from previous shows certifying their situation.
