It will be a day historic for Messina, the result of a demanding and ambitious work started with the De Luca Administration and completed with the current one which returns to the people of Messina an urban space that remained abandoned and unknown for more than 50 years”, said the mayor Federico Basile.

The Aldo Moro Park is an innovative project that falls within the scope of the renaturalization and recovery program of public parks and gardens envisaged by the ForestaMe Programme, in the wake of the Administration’s commitment aimed at recovering and enhancing not only the local heritage but also carrying out a redevelopment operation to bring benefits and new services for citizens. The new composition of the greenery is an integral part of the project, with a significant increase in the plant heritage, also in compliance with urban planning constraints. Local species were favored, thus promoting the biodiversity of the area and creating shading areas and street furniture. The area has been redeveloped to be multifunctional and among the new features the inclusion of spaces for recreational activities and also the possibility of practicing physical activity stand out, and upon completion of the redevelopment, furniture, baskets, benches and accessories to delimit the areas have also been included walkways.

“Ultimately, there is now another green lung of the City, together with the redeveloped Villa Dante, where citizens can walk, meet and discuss, in community, inclusive and sustainable spaces that make Messina a City that evolves into a ever better and more attractive dimension”, says Basile.
