The rehearsals of the horn orchestra of the province of Sassari
Double appointment at the Sassari Conservatory: Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May two events will be hosted at “Canepa” and open to the public.
Thursday at 11.30 am in the Guarino room conference “On the poignant effect of the ‘Norma’: the plot, the action, the instrumentation”, dedicated to the famous opera “Norma” by Vincenzo Bellini. The event, organized by the professor of History of Music at the Sassari Conservatory Lorenzo de Donato, will see Professor Vinicio Busacchi, professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Cagliari, as speaker.
During the morning, one of the absolute masterpieces of Italian opera will be explored, loved for its musical beauty as well as the emotional richness and depth of its characters. We will examine the nuances of dramatic representation and the technical mechanisms of its realization, its universal themes and its lasting impact on the world of opera. The meeting is aimed not only at students of the Conservatory but at all lovers of music and opera.
Friday at 6pm, there will be space for music with the involvement of one large special orchestra that includes all the young horn players of the province. Accompanied by their teachers, in the courtyard of the Conservatory the students of Corno del Canepa, of the “Azuni” Music High School, of the “San Donato” Comprehensive Institute of Sassari, of the “Gramsci” Comprehensive Institute of Ossi and of the Including Thiesi. With them, professors Lorenzo Agnesa, Michele Garofalo, Gavino Mele, Roberto Mura and Salvatore Rizzu. The concert is organized by the Canepa wind instruments department.
As with all Conservatory events, entry is free.
However, the concert scheduled for today, May 22nd, included in the “I Wednesday of the Conservatory” concert series, has been postponed to a later date.
