Villa Làrio, on Lake Como, flies the flag of hospitality

Password hospitality. TO Pognana Lario, a village a few kilometers from Como overlooking the eastern shore of the lake of the same name, the jewel of Villa Làrio, which found its space thanks to a unique offer. We are located inside a 19th century building, previously owned by the Lombardi family, an exclusive boutique property, with eighteen suites, an intimate and refined mood, with a breathtaking and romantic view of the lake.

SWEET LIFE Particular features are the discretion and elegance of a five-star hotel, with the comfort of feeling at home. Guests at Villa Làrio are truly at ease to spend moments of true relaxation. The structure enjoys a privileged position to enjoy a sunset overlooking the lake, on the terrace of Il Palazzo or in the suggestive park of centuries-old cedars, accompanied by the traditional “La Dolce Vita Aperitif”. A winning mix of classic Italian architecture that meets modern standards of luxury, creating perfect harmony. A vision that led to the creation of Villa Làrio in 2015, a thoughtful development project with the dream of reviving an ancient palace and increasing the prestige of a lesser-known destination.

MICHELIN KEY The Palace, Villa Bianca, the Pavilion and the Garden Suite, these are the names of the four different buildings in which the 18 suites of Villa Làrio are located, in two acres of private garden in a very intimate setting. Spaces that offer a unique sensation, designed by the Italian design brand Castagna 1939 by Pietro Castagna, famous interior designer from Lake Como. This year Villa Làrio celebrates ten years of “quiet luxury hospitality”, celebrated with 1 Michelin Key. An important recognition obtained according to five criteria used for the selection. Excellence in architecture and interior design, individuality, personality and authenticity, quality and solidity of service, comfort and maintenance, relevance of the structure within the locality in which it is located and consistency between the price and the experience offered . For guests of the structure, there is an exclusive 20-metre infinity pool with a 360-degree view from the cliff to the lake, as well as many activities available. Yoga sessions every morning, under the centuries-old cedars, or according to the whims of the increasingly crazy weather in the new gym overlooking the lake. In addition to direct access to the lake and the private pier, activities related to water sports such as water skiing, kayaking or paddling or Riva boat tours can be organised.

HOMECOMING A predominantly foreign clientele, Italians are discovering the beauty of this magical place thanks to the Villa Làrio Restaurant, with local cuisine chef Davide Maci. A welcome return home to Lake Como, after years of absence from his city which saw him take his first steps in the kitchen before traveling the world with over twenty years of experience in the world of hospitality, in some of the best restaurants and hotels of Europe. At Villa Lario, Executive Chef Maci finds the ideal conditions to express his talent and tell guests and diners about his light and essential cuisine. A philosophy based on a concrete and direct approach, enhancing the raw material in all its nuances. A new card for Villa Làrio, to play its game in a gastronomic scene that has been in turmoil on Lake Como in recent years. A refined cuisine based on conviviality and Italian style, ingredients in which he believed Flore Pilzer, Head of Brand Villa Làrio, to raise the quality bar even further. Paired with a refined wine list with a mix of local labels, together with great classics of Italian and French winemaking.

BAR SUSPENDED The concept is very interesting.”Garden-to-Glass”, at Villa Làrio al Botanical Bar the focus is on the aperitif in the splendid setting of Il Palazzo. The drink list created by the mixologist Raffaele Albanese includes a focus on the herbs and botanicals present in the park of Villa Làrio. Sustainability and valorisation of the territory with no waste and no waste mixing, with great attention to the vegetal element. Two hectares of private lakefront gardens, where the property has reserved space for the cultivation of aromatic plants to create a menu of sustainable, low-waste drinks for the creation of “botanical cocktails”. A distinctive mixology proposal on Lake Como, with the aperitif at sunset that also meets the new food proposal signed by chef Maci, in the name of Italian tapas. Drinks to be enjoyed in the cedar garden, on the terrace of Il Palazzo or in the new bar suspended over the lake with hammocks, a place also open to external guests like the restaurant upon reservation.
